Safety Surfacing and Wooden Play Equipment

Rosegrove Infants is a local primary school in Burnley that caters for children aged 5 – 8 years old.

Their play area was tired and dull and there was nothing appealing in the area for the children to play and so the area was unused. This area was in need of a total re-vamp.

Sensory Play Area

We began by installing the bespoke timber play equipment built by our skilled joiners. This included timber seating, log panelling and the fantastic fairytale rickety rackety house. We then set to work on the hard and soft landscaping, creating a sensory pathway with bonded rubber mulch, resin bonded gravel, cobbles, crazy paving and colourful wetpour surfacing. Finally we added timber planters, a bespoke sand pit and a water pump to maintain a sensory feel to the area.

They now have a brand new vibrant play area, which is both fun and educational. The new play area encourages the children to learn through each of the different senses, allowing them to interact with nature and understand the natural world and the environment. The pathway consisting of many different textures, the natural planters and the sand and water play make outdoor play and learning so much fun.

Natural Play Equipment

The fairytale rickety rackety house, complete with indoor seating, encourages the children’s creative development, stimulating their imaginations and allowing them to have a blast whilst learning to express themselves and understand their thoughts, feelings and ideas. The opportunities for the children with this new play area are never ending, play time will never be boring with so much to explore.

We have recently returned to Rosegrove Infants and carried out even more work to one of their other play areas. This included more wetpour surfacing and installing more timber play equipment. We created a bespoke timber school notice board, mirror panels, storage units and a story telling area with more timber seating. We have worked with Rosegrove Infants on a number of fantastic outdoor projects and we can’t wait to work with them again.
