Wetpour Safety Surfacing and Play Equipment

Hillside Specialist School in Preston, Lancashire is a school for students with Autism aged between three and sixteen years old.

The staff at Hillside contacted Let’s Play because they required some new safety surfacing in their play areas.

The problem they had was that they had an old tarmac surface that was crumbling, and was not a very safe surface for the children to play on. They also had an area that was muddy and unusable due to weather conditions.

Handmade Play Equipment

We have worked with Hillside Specialist School on several fantastic projects over the last few years. We began by working with them to re-fresh all their safety surfacing, laying both wetpour and bonded rubber mulch to brighten up the area and take safety risks away making sure that the children can have an enjoyable playtime all year round.

Our joiners then created a bespoke timber shed for their play area, and we installed several other pieces of play equipment for them. This included shade sails to create a nice sheltered area, play panels to make learning fun and a hexagon unit trim trail to bring an element of fitness into the area. Other projects we have worked together on include a tyre park and most recently a sunken trampoline..

Inclusive Play

The children are now spoilt for choice with an extensive selection of play equipment, colourful safety surfacing and fun and educational games.

We maintain a close relationship with all the staff at Hillside Specialist School and they are a pleasure to work with as they have some fantastic ideas. We can’t wait to work with them on the next project.

Our commitment to providing a comprehensive customer support system ensures that we build close, long standing relationships with our customers, ensuring that we are there for them not just while the work is carried out but afterwards too.
